PRODUCT INFORMATION

Freshly Baked Products

At Jeanette’s Cakes, our cakes, cupcakes and confectionery products are freshly baked and handcrafted. As our products are handcrafted and individual, slight variations from the original web site may occur.

Handling

When collecting cakes, please carry your purchase with the utmost care. Bags and boxes must be held upright and level at all times to avoid decorations from falling off a cake or a cupcake from toppling over. Cakes transported by vehicle must be placed on a flat surface, free from any objects that may slide or roll into the cakes. We at Jeanette’s Cakes cannot be held liable for damaged items once they have been handed over to the customer.

After leaving the premises, please transfer your fresh cakes into the fridge as soon as possible and keep them away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

Storage & Shelf life

Unless stated otherwise, our cakes and cupcakes should be stored in the fridge and have the following shelf life from the day of purchase:

Cupcakes: up to 3 days
Layer Cakes: up to 7 days
Cookies: 2 – 3 weeks for optimal taste

Cakes should be enjoyed at room temperature (21ºC). Remove cupcakes from the fridge 30 minutes before consumption, and layer cakes 2 – 4 hours in advance. This would also depend on the season and how warm the room you are hosting your event in and also the size of the cake. Sugar or chocolate decorations can melt or collapse in cold, warm or damp conditions.

Fondant cakes have a tendency to sweat in humid and hot weather.

Iced cakes, cookies, biscuits and confectionery items should be stored at room temperature and in dry conditions.

Dietary & Allergen Information

All our products are made in a kitchen that handles, gluten, dairy, egg and soya. Our facility is Nut and Peanut Free. Once our products leave our facility we can not be held liable, since we no longer have control over  how and where the item will be served.
