Cup Cake Decorating  - Course 1

This class focuses on decorating cup cakes with buttercream. Your instructor will teach you skills, that will enable you to decorate beautiful and delicious cupcakes at home, using simple cake decorating tools. At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a box of your own beautiful and delicious creations!  All equipment, cup cakes and icing are supplied. No experience is needed. Please bring your own apron.

We will cover the following:

Icings and butter-cream

Learn all about the different types of icing, butter-cream and fillings for cup cakes. We will demonstrate how to make a smooth and delicious buttercream which allows you to create perfect tops and swirls.

Piping

We  will show you the best equipment to work with and how to avoid some common mistakes. How to prepare you icing bags and pipe several colours at the same time.

We will teach you different swirls, rosettes and how to pipe roses, begonias, daisies and other piped flowers directly onto your cupcake.

You will have ample opportunity to practice your swirls before unleashing your own creative flair on your cup cakes which you will be taking home to share with your family or friends.

Cup Cake Decorating -  Course 2

The ultimate cupcake course! Learn to create fun and delicious cup cakes with a variety of decorations. We will teach you the secret of perfect flat cup cakes using poured liquid fondant and peaked cakes using whipped frosting. You will learn how to prepare a cup cake that is decorated with rolled fondant and learn to create beautiful decorations to finish your cup cakes. Finishing up wiith 12 of your own mouthwatering cupcakes to take home.

All equipment, cup cakes and icing are supplied. No experience is needed. Please bring your own apron.

Duration: 4 hours

Cake Decorating  Basics

Learning how to bake cakes like a pro is a great investment. You will be able to make cakes for all your special occasions and the best part is that your cakes will taste better and be healthier than the cakes you get from the super market!

We will cover

  • the different types of cakes
  • different types of icing
  • preparing your pans and how to bake cakes that are level
  • levelling and torting cakes
  • icing and filling cakes that look beautiful and professional
  • the most important and basic piping techniques
Each person will receive his/her own 6″cake to work on and take the cake home to enjoy.
All ingredients and equipment are included in the course price. Please bring your own apron.

Decorating with Fondant

This is a 5 hour work shop in which students will learn the basics of decorating cakes with fondant. We will share all the tricks and how too’s to get you on your way to decorating beautiful cakes. Students are encouraged to explore and experiment with a wide range of tools and materials in our creative hands-on classes whilst learning professional decorating skills and techniques. During this course students will learn how to colour, cover, and decorate a fresh cake with rolled fondant. They will also have an opportunity to practice on Styrofoam dummy cakes.  Students will be introduced to working with gumpaste to expand their range of decorating possibilities.  To get the most out of this course it is highly recommended that you take the cake decorating basics first as this is the foundation for all cake decorating.

Mini Purse Modelling:

Modelling 3 Mini Sugar Purses. During this course you will learn how to model three mini sugar Purses presented on a professionally iced board with wood effect. (nb: this is a modelling class only)

Making a booking

Full payment is required upon making a booking.  Seven days notice is required on cancellations and a credit note will be given to make up the class. If you do not attend the class you are booked for you will forfeit payment. In the unlikely event that we should have to cancel we offer a full refund.
