Rocky Road Cup Cake

 

Hungry yet?  This is one of our latest cup cake creations. At least our version of the “Rocky Road” creation.

Devils Food Chocolate Cake with vanilla flavoured Italian merengue butter-cream (Yes, we use only real butter~!!), sprinkles of Belgian chocolate, pecan nut praline and caramel sauce. 

Has anyone wondered where the name Rocky Road  originated?  In 1917 there was a candy bar invented called the Rocky Road candy bar, which was made from a combination of marshmallow, cashews, and chocolate. Dreyers chose the name to bring a smile to people’s faces during the depression and perhaps bring a little lift to their lives. 

Today we are probably more familiar with “Rocky Road ice-cream”. So this cup cake is for the Rocky Road of 2010.
