Should you bake your own Wedding Cake?

 

 

Today I came across another article by a well intended journalist.  The journalist suggested that you can save money by baking your own Wedding Cake or asking a friend or family member to do it for you.  You wouldn’t make your own dress or take your own photographs.    Baking your own wedding cake may sometimes work out, but is it worth the stress?  Is the person that you are asking to do this experienced?  It could ruin the best of friendships if your cake doesn’t turn out the way you imagined.  Or worse, what if this person tells you at the last minute that they are unable to make your cake!!  At the end of the day you pay for what you get.  Cake decorators bake cakes for a living and have the commitment, experience and expetise to make sure that this part of your wedding runs smoothly.
