Now more so than ever we need to make every Dollar count. I often suggest to the bridal couple to switch the order of events at their wedding reception to save costs and make the most of their Wedding Cake and Wedding cake photo opportunity. Traditionally the Bride and Groom will cut the cake after the main meal, somewhere near the end of the evening. By that time guest have eaten their fill, have had a lot to drink and the wedding cake is not appreciate at all. Often the bridal couple is disappointed because the cake was not eaten and therefore feel it was a waste. The time and cost spent on creating a Wedding Cake is enormous and can therefore be quite expensive. But the Wedding Cake is such a long standing tradition and one of the first things the bridal couple do as husband and wife and it would be a shame to eliminate the Wedding Cake all together.
Make the most of it! Have the cake cutting ceremony soon after the bridal couple arrives at the venue. Guests are hungry and will enjoy the cake to it’s fullest. No need to pay extra money for hors’doevres . You will feel that the money you spent on your cake was well worth it and your guests will be in the right frame of mind to enjoy this very important part of the evening. You will have a fantastic cake cutting photo opportunity. Afterall what is a Wedding without a beautiful Wedding Cake.
